I love a good striped shirt, and this one is a recent find from Nordstrom Rack.
Here in Austin, we have had the rainiest, most humid spring I can remember in a long time. The air is bathwater. And I’ve been hiding from it.
Except that I can’t really hide from it, because part of my life exists outside the house. Working with students, picking Sammy up from school, running errands, seeing friends—life is meant to be lived, right? So I need to have clothes that look and feel good outside of the house, even when the humidity is 1,000%.
Enter this Caslon t-shirt.
The fabric is light and airy, a touch sheer, but not so sheer that it feels revealing. It’s a polyester/rayon blend, surprisingly soft and comfortable. It feels a lot like a polyester/linen blend. The shirt drapes nicely. It feels like a more polished t-shirt, a stylish t-shirt, with its stripes, v-neck, and the twisted hem. I really like it.
So far, I’ve been wearing it with anything and everything in my closet: Vuori shorts (any colorway), gauzy rust-colored pants, a blue skirt, denim shorts. When it’s clean, this shirt is the first thing I want to wear again. This particular colorway is the ivory-navy stripe. I also think the rust clay stripe (red stripes on a white background) is lovely.
I have some concerns about how well this fabric will hold up over time. It feels like it wants to snag or pill, but it’s holding up just fine after multiple wears. I machine-wash it on delicate and hang it up to air-dry. So far, so good!
