Today’s recommendation is a simple one, but I would put it in my top ten of all the products I’ve discussed on Ordinary Beauty. It’s a flexible, bendy, strong hair clip from the brand Lilla Rose. I wear mine almost every day.
I was first introduced to these awesome hair clips by my friend Courtney, who has brought many awesome things into my life, including tamales, the best chai lattes ever, and my late beloved cat (RIP, Ms. Boo). She has great taste, and I think gift-giving might be her love language. My first Lilla Rose Flexi Sport was tucked inside a much larger gift bag, and it took me a while to start using it. But once I did, it rapidly became an everyday staple for me.
When it comes to hair, I’m not much of a bun person, but most days I wear a little twisted updo. Basically, I gather my hair in a low ponytail, give it a twist, pull it up toward the crown of my head, and use the Flexi Sport or a claw clip to pin it in place. I fluff and arrange the ends a little bit so I don’t look too much like an exotic bird (although that is kinda my vibe, if I’m being honest). And that’s it! The Flexi Sport does a wonderful job of holding my updo in place; it creates a very comfortable and sturdy style.
I really believe in investing in the pieces you wear every day, and I think these Flexi Sport hair clips are just perfect. They don’t last forever, if I’m being honest—the two photographed above are actually replacements for my first one—but I think that’s okay. Most hair accessories don’t last forever.
The Flexi Sport comes in three different sizes. Check out the Lilla Rose website for some guidance on which size you might want. I bought the medium size, and I’d say my hair is an average thickness.
